Museo sannitico “Antonio De Nino”

Opened in 1897, the exhibition contains many Samnite finds discovered during the excavations of the ancient Italic settlement of “Aufidena”, the center of Sunni Caraceni or cerecini, that was under Roman control in 287 BC. Alfedena has been severely damaged during World War II, most of the archaeological material recovered from the rubble, are temporarily under disposal of the Archaeological Superintendence of Abruzzo, in Chieti.
